Leaders and project team of CRLS worked for a long time on similar projects in Kosovo from 2002 and before and have a great experience in work with local governance, authorities and donors.

The Center for Development of Local Communities Kosovska Mitrovica has implemented several projects which sought to educate a particular segment of Kosovo’s society through seminars and numerous panel discussions (Academy for Future of Youth, Development of the Serbian Civil Society, and Capacity Building for NGO Management). Center for Development of Local Communities Kosovska Mitrovica  has been at the forefront of the Kosovo’s civil society when it comes to a stable and coherent struggle for human rights awareness in Northern Kosovo. Center for Development of Local Communities Kosovska Mitrovica believes that education is the way forward through which it can deliver a solid foundation upon which a state, which respects human right and is democratic, regardless of status can function.  Since education is a problem of enormous proportion in Kosovo the centre has identified this issue, one of standardization with the educational systems across Europe, as a starting point.  By explaining the standardization process that the European Union supports through initiatives, such as the Bologna process, the team at the CRLS aspires to lay the foundation for future government supported programs. Also by introducing the youth to the Bologna standards, it is hoped that they themselves will actively press for the standardization processes to envelop institutions that they themselves attend.
